Jessica Simpson

To get this modern blowout with body, stylist Ken Paves blow-dried Simpson's hair while using a round brush. After attaching Clip-In Extensions to the back of her head for more length, he curled 3-inch sections of hair from the mid-shaft to the ends with a one-and-a-half-inch iron, twisting away from the face and down at a 45 degree angle to create loose waves. He finished by applying a shine serum to the ends and a shot of hairspray all over to contol flyaways.

Evangeline Lilly

To create this romantic look, L.A. stylist Patrick Gagaille straightened Lilly's just-washed hair with a blow dryer and a round brush, banishing frizz at the crown. Next, he took 1-inch sections of hair and curled each of them with a half-inch curling iron—leaving the roots flat and only working the lower half of the hair. He sprayed each section with Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Booster for hold and applied a quarter-size amount of Davines Natural Wax to his hands and worked it through the hair from root to tip. A shot of Sebastian Shaper Hairspray followed.

Rihanna

The key to this look, says N.Y.C. stylist Ursula Stephen, is all in the cut: heavy, side-swept bangs bring length to the front, while the back and sides are left short. Stephen blow-dried Rihanna's just-washed hair, combing and flat-ironing her bangs to one side. To create a piecey texture in front, Stephen applied Pantene Pro-V Texturize Spray Wax onto her hands and then finger styled the look to give it a rocker vibe.

Bride Bonus: "Skip long veils—they can overwhelm short hair," says Stephen. A vintage pillbox hat with netting is "the perfect complement to this cut."

Scarlett Johansson

Babaii transformed Johansson's shoulder-length hair into a style worthy of a modern-day Grace Kelly—ideal with a skin baring gown. He started by spritzing David Babaii for Wildaid Bohemian Beach Spray on the roots before he curled her hair into allover ringlets. Next, he backcombed the hair, diminishing the tight curls but keeping the body, and swept it across the nape of the neck to one side. Freeing a 2-inch section of hair in the front, he secured the rest with bobby pins. Babaii shaped the loose hair into a few big waves with a 1-inch curling iron, using a firm hold hairspray to set.

Star Hayrstyle:Katie Holmes and Keri Russell Hairstyle

Haircut styles presents Star Hayrstyle: Katie Holmes and Keri Russell

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes has got a short bob just like her friend Victoria Beckham, but it’s not as zany as her. In fact it’s really soft and gives a really feminine look. Katie Homes has sported long and curvy hair before her marriage. In fact she could be seen in some really girlie hairstyles. But post marriage to Tom Cruise, her taste in clothes and her hairstyles have matured a lot.

Earlier she has been seen in a medium short wavy hair with fringes in the front for many awards night. For the Oscars she was seen in a formal hairstyle, that she pinned back, giving her a leek diva like look. But her hairstyles when she got engaged to Tom Cruise are long. In fact she has more than shoulder length hair which is all wavy and kisses her faces and back. She looks really captivating and she must surely have captivated Tom Cruise too.

Keri Russell

This soft version of the classic twist lends a breezy vibe to the ballerina bun. "Pulling the hair straight back can look harsh," says L.A. stylist Hallie Bowman, who relaxed Russell's natural curls with Karastase Curl-Relaxing Nutri-Sculpt Mousse before blowing them dry. She then curled the hair with a half-inch iron, adding volume at the top and separating curls with Kiehl's Malleable Molding Paste. She then gathered the hair loosely and pinned it into a French twist, setting the style with firm-hold hairspray.

Walking the line between edgy and elegant, this disheveled chignon is the perfect way to soften the look of a structured gown. Abergel gave Beckinsale a center part and misted Frederic Fekkai Coiff Shape & Set Mist onto the roots to add texture. After blow-drying her hair, he used a 2-inch FHI curling iron to twist pieces at random. Next he teased at the crown to build height and gathered it into a low, messy bun, finishing the look with Frederic Fekkai Glossing Sheer Shine Mist.

L.A. stylist Robert Ramos diffused Alba's hair to coax out its natural wave. Next, he gave her a center part, sectioned off hair from either side of the head and French-braided it. He made even smaller plaits from hair at the underside of her head, wrapping them back toward the center and pinning them. "At the back of the head, the braids should be intertwined," he explains.

Haircut styles: Kate Hudson

A low-slung braid paired with polished side bangs exudes unconventional elegance. How to do it? L.A. hairstylist David Babaii blew Hudson's hair straight, smoothing a quarter-size amount of David Babaii for Wildaid Hair Polish from roots to ends. Next, he loosely braided the hair at the nape of the neck and secured it with a clear elastic. Babaii finished the look by running a flat iron through her bangs and sweeping them to the side.

Haircut styles: Penelope Cruz

For this classic half-up look, N.Y.C. stylist Danilo misted a voluminizing spray on Cruz's roots before blowing the hair dry with a mixed bristle brush. To create body and texture, he used a 2-inch curling iron and then set the sections by pin-curling. (Once cool, he released them). Next, he gathered the top half of hair and backcombed to achieve height. He secured this section with a bobby pin and let the rest fall free, taming flyaways.

Haircut styles: Jennifer Garner

To add volume, celebrity stylist Adir Abergel sprayed Garner's still-damp hair with Fekkai Coiff Shape & Set Mist before blow-drying while using a round brush. Then he curled the hair with a 2-inch iron and spritzed it with Fekkai Sheer Hold hairspray. Gathering all of the hair except for the bangs, he wrapped it into a nape-of-the-neck bun, securing it with pins.

Haircut styles presents How to Make Hair Bows

Every little girl loves to wear pretty things and have accessories in her hair. Hair bows to be worn in little girl's hair, are easy to make with these simple step-by-step instructions. The following small bows are easier to handle if you use woven ribbon such as grosgrain, sheer or satin. Haircut styles :How to Make Hair Bows

Hair bows are great accessories that you can design yourself! If you find a piece of ribbon that you really adore, take it along with a pair of scissors, a needle, thread and a barrette of your choice to make a great hair bow.

After getting your supplies ready, cut your piece of ribbon into two pieces; one of 5 inches and the other of 24. Take the 24” piece and make a loop then loop the ribbon again behind the back of the first loop. Then wrap the ribbon around to the front. It should look like a butterfly.

Then take the needle and thread and place it in the center of the bow. Then wrap the thread around the center of the bow loosely, then gently pull to tighten the string and form the bow shape. Then attach the barrette by sewing it onto the back of the bow.

Now take the 5” piece of ribbon fold it in half and then tie a knot in the center. Place the know over the center of the bow to cover the thread. Then fold the remaining part of the 5’ ribbon under the barrette and sew it firmly in place.

The last step is to trim the tails of the bow like fish tails and then you are ready to put it in your hair!

These bows are again simple and easy for anyone to make. This is however a craft that requires practice. The more you practice your bow making the better the outcome. These are great to make for the little girls in your life or maybe even to take up as a new hobby.

Haircut Styles: Modern Bob Hairstyle for Summer 2008

Check this amazing video where Nick Berardi the ex. New York Creative Director of Vidal Sassoon shows us how to cut modern bob hairstyle for summer 2008. Enjoy this great video, you'll also notice that Asian girls are simply made to wear bob hairstyle, they look so cute!

This bob hairstyle is messy and sexy, and because it’s short, it’s easy and fast.

- Spritz dry hair roots volumizing spray.

-Use a tail comb to create a side part so your hair would drape over one eye.

- Do not do a straight, clean part. Instead, zigzag the part all the way back.

- To create waves, use a medium-barrel curling iron on 1- and 1½-inch sections of your hair. Randomly twist the iron in alternating directions and left the ends out for an undone effect.

- Finally, shake your head back and forth while misting locks with hairspray.

The final result is a really glamorous, modern bob hairstyle.

Haircut Styles: How to Get Wavy Hair

Using a volumizing mousse

With the right stuff and a bit of patience, it’s easy to get wavy hair. Wash your hair and gently towel dry the hair. Apply a volumizing mousse to the hair and evenly spreadt out. Use a comb to ensure that its spreads out evenly. Using the palms of your hands, gently push the hair so that waves are created. Use clips to set them in place to achieve the look of the wavy hair.

Blow drying the hair

This way, you would get the controlled waves and not the fizzy hair. Blow dry with a diffuser or from afar to get the soft look. When the hair is completely cry, remove the clips from your hair and gently run your fingers to separate the waves.

Wavy hair

Use the shine serum

Use just 2-3 drops of shine serum over your tresses to give it that extra shine and gloss. Just let your hair be and you have great wavy hair just the way you would love. When you are finished styling your hair, don’t run a comb through it else you will wreck the look of your wavy hair.

Ultimate Guide to Growing Healthy Long Hair

Over the years, hair becomes duller, rougher or worse starts thinning out. But all isn’t lost; you can still get healthier and shinier hair by just following a few age old recipes and some new age products. For starters use less of the blow dryer and let your hair naturally dry out. Extensive use of blow dryer can cause damage to the hair ends and the roots. Use shine serums and volumizing products to give bounce to the hair.

Switch for lighter conditioners for the hair. The heavy conditioners tend to weigh down the hair always apply the conditioner to the ends of the hair only. You don’t need to massage your head with it. Apply it the right way and get healthier hair. Use clarifying shampoos that strip away the products that have been used on your hair. The product buildup can hamper the quality and growth of your hair.

Always trim your hair often. Damage to your hair will move up from the ends and the only way to stop the damage in its tracks is to remove it as soon as it happens. Trim hair a half inch every month or so (the average rate of hair growth) if you are maintaining your length. If you are actively growing your hair, trim it a half inch every three or four months. In between trims it is beneficial to sit in bright light and snip any splits off the ends of individual hairs with a good pair of hair cutting scissors that you explain to the men in your house are absolutely not to be used for anything else, especially prying off bottle caps when they can't find the bottle opener, which is of course in the drawer where it belongs if they'd just look. I digress. If you are persistent with this method, regular trims may be able to be postponed even longer. If your hair begins to show damage, it is important to trim it more often! Damaged hair doesn't grow, it breaks, and damage will only increase with time.

Avoid extreme diets. If your body isn't getting enough nutrition, neither is your hair. Even if you try to avoid fat, it's essential that you don't completely eliminate all fat from your diet. Your hair (and body) will surely suffer for it. If you tend to restrict calories then be sure to take a multivitamin (any comprehensive one will do) to make sure both your body and your hair get the daily nourishment they need.

Top Hair Care Tips

In the USA the trend for looking good is increasing dramatically and most of the men and women are concerned about the look of their hair, due to this hair care has become the most popular personal care category, when we talk about spending money.

Here are few hair care tips that might help you to have a healthy looking and admiring hairs.

First is to avoid the use of hair styling products, like straightening or waving, coloring and many more. These would obviously make your hair look good, but it wont be permanent and the more you use them, the more would be the chances that you would loose hair or make them dead.

Many people have a misconception that dead hairs can be repaired, but it is not so. Once your hairs are dead they can never be repaired. Therefore, avoid over-grooming of your hair and hair care products that provide granted benefits.

Even dying your hairs can cause serious problems, as more peroxide is used, the more your hairs get damaged. Therefore, avoiding this stuff can help you a lot to have more healthy and good looking hair.

Just like every summer, fashion and hair trends are all the buzz. Well, the 2008 results are in and here are the latest and hottest summer hairstyle trends. Long, medium or short… this year how long you wear your hair does not matter. What matters is how you present it.

Women that are sporting longer hair, waves are in. These are simple waves that can be created by as simple as using mouse spread throughout your wet hair and to blow dry on low. Then use a curling iron to create loose curls and then to separate them with your fingers.
The other look is sleekly straight. Just heat up your flat iron (preferable a sedu) and start straightening away.

Women with short hair should use layers for extra bounce. It can be as short as a boys cut, but with the layering it gives it a sexy feminine look ready to catch the eye of any man.
If you want curls, make them loose and natural and make sure to display your face and not have a Carrot Top of a mess.
No matter the length of your hair, add some streaky highlights. You don’t want them to be chunky. They should be light and multi-toned so that the light reflects beautifully upon your hair.

The Fringe
There are the blunt fringes which is the safest. You can ever wear the fringe the way Kate Moss wears it which is really long. In fact it’s hanging over the eyes. For common folk it would quite irksome, but for super model Kate Moss, it’s her signature look. The pixie look is ultra short and needs confidence to carry off.

The Fringe

The crop look
The crop look can be quite daring to say the least. It spells of independence and boldness. It’s sharp, elegant, young and funky. Especially the boyish short drop will look really nice.

The Sleek side part
This is a classic statement that really never goes out of style. It’s big on runways and has been as part of the Spring/Summer collection.

Jessica Alba

The feminine hairstyles
All of being soft, flowing and demure, these hairstyles nevertheless can make women look extremely desirable and sexy. Soft waves and tousled up hair reminiscent of the 1930’s and 1940’s. The emphasis would also be pastel colors for makeup and clothes.
