Haircut styles: How to style short hair

All Haircut styles presents How to style short hair

Even if you have short hair, you can still look sexy. Here’s how. Firstly always get a hair cut done from a reputable salon or a hair stylist who is aware about the condition, styling and the looks of your locks. If your hair is thin, ensure that you apply a thickening cream before you blow dry your hair. Dry hair should be sheltered by a protectant before been blow dried.

Face cut and styles matter
While getting a short hair cut done, remember your own face cut. Specific styles suit specific face cuts. The thing to remember with short hair is that it needs to be trimmed every 3-4 weeks depending on the growth of the hair and the cut. Worse comes to worse, you can always let your hair grow if you don’t like the style.

How does Hair Type affect your choice?
There are sedu short hairstyles for almost any hair sort. Fine hair can be increased in volume by means of layers along with styling products like mousse that can provide your hair with a great deal more boost. On the other hand, thick hair may call for a short hair style that includes a few razor techniques to thin your hair and a somewhat longer length to steer clear of the "bowl" appearance on your head. Curly hair can give the impression of being great short, provided you stick with a curvy bob or employ a styling aid that will give neatness to an excessively curly hair do. Your best call to action is to discuss the matter with your stylist regarding your face shape and hair type before choosing the best short-hair style for you.
It hardly takes any time to style short hair. The easiest to do is run your fingers through your hair when getting a blow dry done. You would get a hair style just like Winona Ryder. It’s important to finish the style with a hairspray. This ensures that it stays great looking all day long. Now just step out and let others admire your hair.

Hairdo For Frizzy Hair 2011

Hairdo For Frizzy Hair 2011

Finding a hairdo for frizzy hair may be very difficult for your frizzy, uncontrollable hair. Not only do you want a hairdo that will conceal the frizz, but also that is easy to manage and that will last the entire day without any frizz. Here are some hairdos for frizzy hair that will provide you with all three of these important qualities

Bun or Ponytail Hairstyle For Frizzy Hair

Hairdo - Bun for Frizzy hair. Two hairstyles that will work well when you are experiencing a problem with frizzy hair are the bun or ponytail hairstyles. All that you need to do in order to make these hairstyles easy to manage and last the entire day is wash the hair and then pull it back into a ponytail or bun, whichever you decide. Add a decent amount of hairspray or gel to the area of hair that you pull back. This will keep the hairdo into the place and, ultimately, will prevent frizz from taking over your head throughout the day.

Straight or Curly Hairstyle For Frizzy Hair

Straight or Curly Hairstyle For Frizzy Hair. A straight or curly hairstyle is another great way to keep your frizzy locks in control. All that you need to do is wash the hair and use a flat iron to straighten it. Straightening the hair in itself should keep the hair frizz-free for the rest of the day, but you can add some spray or mousse to guarantee that it will remain that way. After your hair is straightened (and before you have added any styling products) you have the option of using a curling iron on it. Create medium to large curls and then use a styling product to hold them in place. If you do choose to get with a curly hairstyle, do not put half of it up because this may actually create more frizz.

How to Keep Frizzy Hair in Check
To keep frizzy hair in check, you need a styling cream. Just a few drops will do ya and finish off a great hairstyle. Simply rub the cream in your palms to warm it up then palm it from the middle of your hair down to the ends. Be gone frizzies!

Treatment for Hair Frizz

Certain simple tips can be followed to make curly hair more manageable, smooth and less frizzy. You can tame frizz to a great extent.

* Never handle hair too much. If at all you want to touch your hair, then it is better to moisten your fingers with water or conditioner and then run the fingers through the hair. This will help to smoothen out the frizz.

* It is recommended not to wash hair everyday. This will strip hair of its natural oils, which are the best moisturizers.

* For coarse hair, which is generally dry and frizzy, it is recommended to use hot curling iron. Hair, like clothes when ironed becomes smooth and shiny. Softening techniques can flatten fly-aways and frizziness by softening the molecules of the hair.

* Hair should be blow dried methodically. Running the dryer over hair up and down can cause the cuticle to split and result in frizz. Hair can be divided into sections and blow-dry section-by-section. Although this can take time and practice, it is worth the effort.

Home remedies for frizzy hair

* Use of vinegar helps to smoothen the hair cuticles. Vinegar also corrects the pH balance in the hair.

* Tropical coconut conditioner or castor oil conditioner can be effective in smoothing down frizz.

* Natural vegetable glycerin can be added to the mousse or gel and used effectively on hair to control frizz.

* Egg can be mixed with olive oil and this paste applied to hair directly. After about half an hour, rinse out with a shampoo and conditioner.

Combating hair frizz

* Hair shampoos, conditioners and moisturizers have to be chosen with special care. One should choose a hair product based on the thickness of the hair. For thin hair, too much moisturizer will get rid of frizziness, but it will tend to make the hair flat. For thicker hair, it would be wise to use a conditioner that is formulated to help smoothness.

* Leave in conditioners are a good option for all types of hair no matter the thickness.

* Shampoo hair to the minimum; restrict it to only twice a week. This is because shampooing can dry out hair and dry hair can cause frizz. If you need to wash hair daily to keep out the dirt, then it is better to dilute the shampoo, or use only the conditioner and lots of water.

* It is always better to have hair rinsed in the coldest water after a shampoo and a conditioner for straight hair. The coldest water will help hair to look less frizzy as it locks down the hair cuticle and makes hair slicker and softer.

* To combat the use of styling products that contribute to frizz, it is best to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week.

* For frizziness that is caused due to damaged hair, deep conditioning treatment once a week helps to smoothen and soften the hair frizz. Deep moisturing treatments every week helps to tame frizziness.

* Heat helps the conditioner to penetrate deeply into the hair. It is suggested to sit under a warm hood dryer or wrap a towel around the head leaving the conditioner to work for atleast an hour or even overnight for best results.

* Never rub the hair after hair wash. Instead gently squeeze out the excessive moisture with a towel.
* If hair is very fine, it is better not to over-condition it. It is better to use a lighter styling produce like a mousse instead of a gel.

* It would be ideal to use a hair mask. This is ideal for deep conditioning the hair.

How to Style Wavy and Curly Hair

How to Style Wavy and Curly Hair

Does your frizzy hair leave you envying women with sleek, straight hair? Well, forget $500 straightening treatments. Here's how to style wavy and curly hair into beautiful, frizz-free ringlets in less than half an hour.

Steps:
  1. Condition your hair, massaging your scalp to get rid of build-up and excess oil. Shampoo your hair every other day, or best; only two days in a week. (shampooing every day dries out your hair)Once a week is best if you can.
  2. Comb hair in shower while conditioner is still in. Never towel dry hair. Instead, air dry or diffuse.
  3. Pour a dollop of liquid straightening serum and a smaller dollop of glossing serum into your hand and mix them together.
  4. Apply the straightening-glossing serum mixture to sections of your hair. Twist each section around your fingers, hold for a few seconds, then release. Do this all over your head.
  5. Turn your head down. Dry your hair with a blow-dryer with a diffuser attachment until your hair is completely dry.
  6. Spray hair lightly with an anti-frizz spray.
  7. Or... You can be sure to condition your hair thoroughly in the shower, combing through it with you fingers (not a comb). When you get out of the shower, put some leave-in conditioner or curl cream in it, followed by gel (don't worry, your hair will absorb a lot and prevent frizz--it won't get crusty unless you overload on the gel). Let air dry.

Tips:
  • Diffusers have prongs to lift the hair as it is dried. If you want volume at the roots, buy a diffuser with the longest prongs you can find. These are most easily found at salons or beauty supply stores.
  • When blow-drying with a diffuser, gather large sections of hair into the cup of the diffuser and hold close to your head.
  • For extra volume at the roots, move the blow-dryer in a small circular motion while hair is cupped in the diffuser at the scalp.
  • Save money by using a straightening serum, which works wonderfully for blow-drying hair into ringlets or creating a straight style.
  • If you want to do something different (and you can stand to part with your long hair) consider this style: have long bangs, but cut the rest of your hair really short (like only an inch or two long). The really short part is too short to curl, and you can straighten your bangs if you want. If your hair is more wavy than curly, your bangs might look fine as is, though. This haircut is also really easy to wash and takes no time at all to style.
  • Only wash your hair once a day, every other day or every 2 days. That may sound gross to you, but as long as you take a shower and clean your body and put conditioner in it, it will look good and not be greasy.
  • Some good products are Pantene Pro-V for curly hair, Sun Silk for curly hair, John Frieda frizz ease for curly hair and Garnier curl and shine. Herbal Essences also has a new line for curly hair that works wonders!
  • Thick and wavy hair requires different care than straight. If you aren't willing to work with it, consider cutting it shorter. Keep in mind that shorter hair won't weigh itself down & may look "poofy" if cut too short.
  • Don't blow dry too closely to your head or frizz may occur!
  • Try a method that NaturallyCurly.com calls "plopping." Comb your hair in the shower, use your favorite product to scrunch your hair (make sure you REALLY scrunch all the way around). Lay a t-shirt flat on a chair, with the neck hole closest to you. Pile (or plop!) your hair on top of your head and lean upside down over the t-shirt. Fold the widest part of the t-shirt (not the neck) over your head/hair and secure it in place by tieing the sleaves together. Let your hair dry, or almost dry, plopped up on your head and your curls will be amazing!!
Warnings:
  • Don't brush your hair after it is dry, or you you will get really poofy bad hair that isn't straight, curly or wavy!
  • It is possible to burn yourself with a diffuser, so hold it an inch or two away from your scalp.
  • Do not get the spray in your eyes!
Things You'll Need
  • Diffusers
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Heat Protection Spray (not necessary, but it helps protect your hair from heat damage!)

How to Get Sexy Hair 2010

How to Get Sexy Hair 2010

Have you ever wondered how to get beautiful, sexy hair without the use of curling irons, flat irons or a blow dryer You thought it was impossible, right? - Wrong! Read on to find out how to get the sexy hair you've always dreamed of...

Steps

1. Start by washing and conditioning your hair well. This will prep your hair for the products and also discourages frizz and knots (which you definitely don't want for sexy hair!)
2. Towel dry your hair, then leave it in a FRESH hair towel - this way the towels will soak up must of your hair's moisture.
3. Put a little curl defining creme onto your fingertips and rub them together to ensure the creme is evenly distributed.
4. Separate your hair into sections (depending on how thick/long your hair is, and also how big you want your curls to be) and apply the creme, twisting the section away from the parting as you do so. This takes a little practice, so if you prefer, apply the creme all the way through the section then twist it.
5. Do the same for all the other sections.
6. Apply a little hairspray for extra hold to each section, then let your hair dry completely naturally!
7. Look to see that now you should have beautiful, sexy hair! If when your hair is totally dry you have a little unwanted frizz, apply a tiny bit of serum to your hair, following the shape of the curl.

Tips

* It helps if you have naturally quite curly/wavy hair to start with, though this also works with straight hair.
* If your hair is a bit on the fine side, use a voluminizing shampoo and conditioner to give it lots of natural bounce!
* Side bangs also look really cute with this look - try to curl them very slightly outwards at the ends, which can also be done with a little bit of curl cream.

Warnings

* You could have trouble with this if your hair is VERY straight - be happy with your hair and embrace the straightness! (remember thousands of people use flat irons every day to get hair like yours...)

Things You'll Need

* Shampoo + Conditioner (preferably voluminizing)
* Curl Creme
* Hairspray
* Serum (optional)

Fall 2010 Trends: Wavy & Curly Hairstyles

Haircut Styles presents Wavy & Curly Hairstyles

Curly hairstyles are back again with a combination
of new technology and innovation. Curls, tussels, waves and twists are simply a matter of convenience, less time, less investment and lots of fun. From those who have natural curls to those who apply curls for a stylish look, a range of hairstyles for curly hairs are available to suit all kinds of formal gatherings and informal get together as well. The only disadvantage of curls is that it is more prone to frizz and split ends, so one needs to take additional care of the curls.

Curls can be obtained using various tools available in the market. Hair rollers and rolling pins are the easiest way to add body and texture to the hair. They create soft and lasting curls that can be incorporated into a variety of styling options. Technology has also come up with different curling irons that are most effectively used today. Affordable, reliable and attractively designed curling irons can give just the required curls with minimum effort and fuss. Various irons used by professionals include the ceramic curling irons and the triple barrel curling irons. Travel curling irons, steam irons, brush curling irons, spiral irons, marcel irons and flat curling iron are various other irons that are widely available in the market. From short to medium and long hair length there are various hairstyles for people with curly hairs. Through the years many women have emulated short curly hairstyles that are smashing and funky. Be sure to shampoo and condition locks and then use a ceramic curling iron to create bouncy curls, something that looks amazing. Other short hairstyles for curly hair include curly updos, wet bun, messy curls, loose curls, light waves and many more.

Apart from using curling irons these hairstyles can also be achieved using foam rollers, rag rollers, hook and loop style roller set and wet pin curl set. Medium length curls and long curly hairstyles can never compete with curly short hairstyles but yet there are women who prefer keeping mid length curly hairstyles and long curls with versatile styling options. The best style for long curly hairs includes an updo, loose ringlets or a pony tail. Long curly hair is difficult to maintain and requires frizz easers to give volume and texture to the hairstyle.

There are many people who are blessed with natural curls. There are various styling options to give texture and body to the natural curls. Depending on the volume of the curls various hairstyles for naturally curly hairs have come up in the fashion trend and are more remarkable aspect of many of the celebrities for a smashing, classic and eloquent look. Thick hairs are unmanageable and are resistant to perm and defined curls. They require smoothing shampoo, condition and anti frizz serums to provide moisture to the hair. Creating ringlets, updos, corn rows, crimps, classic proms and a partial knot leaving the rest of the curls falling down are few of the counted hairstyles for thick curly hairs.

Celebrity Hairstyles at MTV Awards 2010

Miley, Taylor and Britney and all the other nominees I looked at last article, they have had plenty of time to get their acts together and plan their new outfits and hairstyles. So lets take a look at the awards from Sunday night and see if their hairstyles got better or worse.

Miley Cyrus Hairstyle:

Miley's stuck with her signature soft layered style. It's good for promoting body in fine, lifeless hair, and medium size hot irons have been used to create those loose and natural spiral waves. It's a great hairstyle, but it'd be quite difficult to do yourself. Miley's hair has basically stayed the same.Your round face shape really needs a straighter hairstyle and a center part.

Britney Spears Hairstyle:

This is a simple one length style which is soft and gracious. Blonde highlights create the effect of texture and three-dimensionality by making the hair appear to have more light and shade. Britney's the comeback queen this year for sure. Nice job Britney!

Rihanna Hairstyle:

Well this is a unique way to do something different with really short hair. It actually looks dressed up! It has been teased and moulded into position through the top, and then lacquered down. The blonde hair extension in the top area at the front, with the kiss curl, is a very clever way of adding contrast and providing a nice element of femininity. Some soft bangs, or even partial bangs, are needed to balance-out the shape a little more. The blonde piece adds some nice contrast too, but it looked too high and out of place.
Taylor Swift Hairstyle:

Taylor is wearing a long one length style with soft layers through the left front areas. Taylor's hairstyle at the VMAs has made some big improvements. More layering on the left hand side, extending down from her bangs, adds some bounce and body to her fine hair, and the extra length adds an attractive "healthy" quality to her hair . Taylor's color has also changed, and now has titian honey overtones that suit her complexion and bring her face to life. Overall: a great improvement and very sexy!.

Pete Wentz Hairstyle:

Pete's sporting a top-heavy razor-cut that's all about messy texture. This hairstyle works extremely well on straight coarse hair. It's easy to style, probably because it's all about being messy. He lost the cardigan and the glasses. Diamond face shape of his should be his priority- now more than ever because his head looks too big for that tux.

Fall 2010: Formal Hairstyle Ideas

Haircut styles Formal Hairstyle Ideas for Fall 2010

Every woman wants to look gorgeous at a formal e
vent. Whether it’s a wedding, prom, anniversary, or other occasion, the way one’s hair is styled can truly make all the difference. For most women, a formal hairstyle involves an elaborate up do. Traditionally, these styles involve perfect curls and twists with not a single lock out of place.

Perfect Updo

These are timeless options, but modern updos are becoming looser. A well-designed style with loose curls and select pieces left down provide a casual elegance that makes the wearer look more natural. While updos are still in style, wearing one’s hair down at a formal event is also quite popular.

Beautiful Wavy Hair

Smooth, shiny waves and curls look fabulous on those with medium to long hair. These look even better when combined with side-swept bangs. Those with short hair may think they are unable to complete a formal look.

Shorter Formal Hair Idea

However, this is not the case. A simple, sleek short ‘do can be just as elegant and glamorous as a longer style. A stunning accessory can also add a little sparkle to a short look. Overall, the best way to choose a formal hairstyle is to search magazines and the internet for ideas. Then, take some pictures to your stylist. He or she will know what style will look best on your features and for your event.

How to Have Great Hair

If you want healthy hair that shines with all it's strength then read on! These steps are simple and natural tips for healthy hair.
Wash your hair the recommended amount.
Clean hair is healthy hair. Do not wash every day or you will ruin the hair's cuticles. Massage shampoo into the scalp. Do this for about 40 seconds, wash out thoroughly and then repeat once more. pour conditioner into your hand filling the palm, rub from the tips of your hair to the root covering all your hair. If you want softer silkier looking hair leave the conditioner on for 4 minutes. You can give yourself a deep conditioning treatment by sectioning the hair and covering it in conditioner. It is best to let your hair dry naturally; but if necessary use a heat protection spray which you spray on the hair while it is still wet and then blow dry, this will also protect hair from curlers/straighteners etc.
How to Have Great Hair
Dry hair carefully.
Do not wring it with the towel- blot instead. Also do not brush your hair while it is wet- instead use a wide-toothed comb. Take your brush and brush a small chunk of the front of you.

Eat healthy foods that aid the hair in staying strong and lustrous. Your diet can also prevent hair loss.

*Essential fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids, play a key role in skin, hair, and nails. You should eat some of these foods, which are rich in omega-3, every day:
o Salmon, tuna, mackerel, and other fatty fish
o Flaxseed oil
o Walnuts and almonds

* Vitamins B-6, B-12, and folic acid are also important to your hair. Vegetarians and vegans often don't get enough of these vitamins.
o Good sources of vitamin B-6 include bananas, potatoes (both white and sweet), and spinach.
o Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits and tomatoes, will help you get folic acid. Whole grain and fortified grain products, beans, and lentils also contain folic acid.
Major sources of B-12 include meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products.

* Protein is also critical for keeping hair healthy, but many people don't get enough. Lean meat like fish, chicken, eggs, and soy products are good sources of protein; eat one serving every day.
* Trace minerals like magnesium and zinc also affect hair- it's a good idea to take a daily multivitamin.

Have a haircut every four to six weeks. This will remove split ends and learn how to prevent split ends.

Style your hair at most four times a week to avoid damaging it. A simple braid or an elegant one can be worn on days when you don't want to or shouldn't style your hair. It is easiest to add gel or mousse to curly hair when it is wet, instead of laboriously straightening it with a flat iron. Wavy hair can go either way and straight hair is low maintenance.

Wear hair accessories. Clips or barrettes can compliment beautiful hair. Coordinate them with your outfits or your personality.
